In keeping with our philosophy,
CareerLeader®, CareerLeader-College and TalentRetainer
move you through several phases:
- First you take our proprietary
tests. Using the Business Career Interest Inventory (BCII)
we help you define your "career interest universe." Your unique
pattern of interests defines a universe of possible careers
in which you could find a way to express those interests. Then
we use the Management and Professional Reward Profile (MPRP) to
help you to focus that universe by assessing what motivates you
(i.e., what are the "rewards" you want to get back from your work). Lastly,
we use an abilities assessment inventory,
the Management and Professional Abilities Profile (MPAP),
to help you focus still further by thinking in a systematic way
about your business skill strengths and weaknesses and the implications
of these strengths and weaknesses for different career paths.
- With all of the information in hand, we combine it and compare
your integrated profile against the opportunities available (or
not available) in more than 20 major business career paths, in
order to recommend that you investigate those careers further.
We then provide details about each career (what it's about, what
interests you'll be able to express, which motivating factors are typically
available, and what skills are necessary), showing why we think
a given career is (or is not) a good match for you.
- Then we use two ways of assessing your fit with critical elements
of corporate culture, to make sure that you are able to find the
right work environment in which to pursue your career. Lastly,
we offer an assessment of potential career breakdowns, those "Achilles'
Heels" that can derail you if you are not aware of them and
adjust your forward progress accordingly.
The BCII is the most sophisticated business
career interest assessment instrument available. The BCII,
unlike other interest inventories, focuses on business careers,
and so we can provide much more specific recommendations than
other general interest tests.
